The story of the cidrerie
From 1983...
The Cidrerie Coat-Albret has been created in Bédée by Loïc Berthelot in 1983, at a time when issues such as alimentation quality, alimentary products origins and terroirs just began to be addressed.
The creation of the cidrerie was triggered by a will of self-sufficiency, the need to "live and work at home" and the wish to give back its prestige to Brittany's emblematic drink.
To nowadays
Nowadays, six people work there and produce 350,000 bottles of cider per year.
Coat-Albret ciders are commercialized essentially in crêperies, restaurants and convenience stores in Brittany, though they happen to travel in France and far away...
Cider, a passion !
Being a cider maker is a demanding task: one needs time to acquire the knowledge necessary to elaborate quality ciders.
At Coat-Albret's, this passion is transmitted from one generation to the next since Morgan, Loïc's daughter, is about to take up the challenge.
The apple suppliers
Nothing would be possible without them ! They are farmers, retired persons and workers, men and women, young and old, all careful to deliver us great fruits, essential to the quality of our ciders.
Indeed, every year, 450 tons of apples are picked up by more than a hundred of suppliers in the traditional orchards around Bédée, 20km west of Rennes. Our relations with our suppliers are obviously fair and long-termed.
